you should simplify the answer and leave the ans in surd in its simplest form.
1.We cut the triangle.
The green square is 4/9 of the triangle
The yellow square is 1/2 of the triangle
The yellow square is the larger square.
The area of triangle is
72*2=144cm sq
The area of the smaller square is
144*4/9=64cm sq
2.We cut the triangle.
The green square is 4/9 of the triangle
The yellow square is 1/2 of the triangle
The yellow square is the larger square
Area of triangle is
4x/4=x
x*x=x sq
x sq*2=2x sq
Perimeter of the smaller square is
2x sq*4/9*=8x sq/9
√(8x sq/9)=(2x√2)/3
(2x√2)/3*4
=(4x√2)/3
